About the product

A study in restraint

“Most skincare promises more. We have chosen to promise less.”

Niacinamide is a well-studied ingredient in modern dermatological literature. It is a form of vitamin B3, water-soluble, well-tolerated by most skin types, and present in concentrations from 2% to 10% across the cosmetics industry. We use niacinamide at 5%, a concentration supported by published research for comfort and tolerance in everyday use.

Around that ingredient, we have built a gel-cream — not a serum, not a heavy cream — that sits comfortably between the two. The texture is intentional — a gel-cream designed to layer well under sunscreen and make-up. The formula is formulated without synthetic fragrance, essential oils, or alcohol denat — full INCI on packaging.

This is a product that does its work and gets out of the way. We think that is what a daily moisturiser should do.

How it’s formulated

Three things worth knowing

Niacinamide at 5%

A water-soluble form of vitamin B3, used here at 5% — a concentration with broad evidence in published skincare research for everyday comfort and tolerance.

A gel-cream texture

Lightweight enough for combination and oilier skin, hydrating enough for normal and dry. The format sits well under sunscreen and base makeup without pilling or residue.

What it is free of

Formulated without synthetic fragrance, essential oils, alcohol denat, AHAs, BHAs, retinol, menthol or camphor — the ingredients most commonly flagged for sensitivity. Full INCI on packaging.

How to use

A simple ritual

On clean skin

Apply morning and evening after cleansing and any serums you use. Cleansed, slightly damp skin helps absorption.

A pea-sized amount

For most faces, a pea-sized pump is enough. Warm it briefly between fingertips, then press — not rub — into the face and neck.

Then SPF, in the morning

This gel sits well under mineral SPF. In our routine guidance we recommend SPF every morning, regardless of weather.

Patch-test first

If you are introducing niacinamide for the first time, apply a small amount to a discreet area (such as the inner forearm) for 24 hours before full-face use.

Frequently asked

A few questions

Can I use this with vitamin C?
Yes. The old belief that niacinamide and vitamin C cancel each other out has been disproven in modern formulations. We recommend applying vitamin C in the morning, allowing it to absorb, then layering this gel on top before SPF.
Will it work for oily skin?
Yes. The gel-cream texture is intentionally light. Niacinamide is one of the few actives generally well-tolerated across all skin types, including oily and acne-prone.
Is it suitable during pregnancy?
Many cosmetic guidance bodies regard topical niacinamide as a low-risk ingredient during pregnancy, but we are not able to give personal medical advice. Please consult your GP or midwife before introducing any new product during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
When will I see a difference?
Niacinamide is typically a slow-build ingredient in topical use. Comfort and hydration are often felt sooner, while changes in skin appearance, where they occur, generally develop over consistent use across several weeks. Individual responses vary and we make no specific promise of outcome.
What goes with this in a routine?
In our Calming Edit this gel sits at the moisturiser step, after a hydrating toner and serum, and before mineral SPF in the daytime. For a richer night step, layer with our Ceramide Barrier Night Cream.
